Group Tabs Manager Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
Group Tabs Manager keeps user-configured native browser tab groups available in normal browser windows. This policy explains how the extension handles information while providing that feature.
Information the extension handles
To maintain the tab groups that you configure, the extension accesses the current browser profile's tab, tab-group, and normal-window information. This can include tab URLs, titles, identifiers, group names, group colours, window identifiers, and the configuration you enter, such as default URLs and group placement.
Where information is kept
Configuration is kept in the browser profile using the browser's local extension storage. Temporary tab, group, and window bindings are kept in the browser's session storage. The extension does not operate a server and does not send this information outside your browser.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, share, or disclose your data to us or to third parties.
- It does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote code, or third-party services.
- It does not require an account, sign-in, or payment information.
- It does not run in Incognito or InPrivate windows.
Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
storage | Stores your configured groups and the extension's enabled/paused setting in the local browser profile. |
tabs | Finds, creates, moves, and restores the managed tabs needed for your configured groups. |
tabGroups | Creates and maintains the native tab groups that you configure. |
Your choices
You can pause enforcement at any time from the extension popup. While paused, you can remove a configured group from the options page. You can also remove the extension using your browser's extension management page; removing it clears the extension's local storage from that browser profile.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the relevant extension update is released.
